System Administrator (SQL, Linux & Windows)

About the role

We are looking for a System Administrator to manage and secure Hitachi Rail’s IT infrastructure. The role focuses on Linux and Windows server environments and the administration of SQL databases to support critical business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Linux and Windows servers.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and apply patches.
• Administer SQL databases (installation, configuration, backup, recovery) for Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Optimize queries, ensure high database performance and enforce data integrity and security.
• Schedule and monitor backups, disaster‑recovery plans and system updates.
• Develop scripts for routine tasks and system monitoring.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards and networking best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a System Administrator with strong SQL database expertise.
• Proven experience managing Linux and Windows server environments.
