Tenure-Track Assistant Professor – Physics

About the role
The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Louisiana State University of Alexandria seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Physics. This nine‑month faculty position begins in August 2026 and focuses on delivering high‑quality undergraduate physics and physical‑science instruction both on campus and online.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and teach lecture and laboratory courses in physics and related physical‑science subjects, in‑person and virtually.
- Maintain high instructional standards and employ innovative teaching methods to support student success.
- Mentor undergraduate students in research projects.
- Hold regular office hours and be accessible to students electronically.
- Participate in university committees, institutional meetings, and curriculum development.
- Allocate effort across teaching (60%), scholarly activities (20%), and service (20%).
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in college‑level physics.
- Ability to teach both on‑site and online formats.
