Underground Shift Supervisor

About the role

The Underground Shift Supervisor leads the daily underground shift at the Sukari gold mine, ensuring safe, compliant and productive operations in line with the 24‑hour plan, mine design and budget. The role coordinates personnel, equipment and contractors, controls drill‑and‑blast and load‑and‑haul activities, and maintains accurate shift records for planning and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑shift meetings, review the 24‑hour plan and align execution with geology, survey and geotechnical inputs.
• Verify drilling locations and patterns, sign‑off before charging, apply clearance and re‑entry controls, and keep drill‑and‑blast records.
• Allocate LHD and haulage resources, monitor ore/waste segregation, and coordinate tipping, stockpiling and re‑handling to avoid congestion.
• Inspect headings, ground support and barricading; coordinate ventilation, water, electrical and backfill services.
• Perform workplace inspections, enforce permits, isolations, barricades and exclusion zones, and stop work when critical controls are not met.
• Respond to incidents, support investigations, drive corrective actions and communicate learnings.
• Maintain accurate production, development, equipment and survey data; prepare timely shift reports and highlight variances.

Required profile

• Mine Supervisor Certificate of Competence or equivalent statutory appointment.
• 8–10 years of underground mining experience in production and development, with proven crew supervision.
• Demonstrated coordination of drill‑and‑blast, load‑and‑haul and underground services.
• Strong competence in risk assessment, critical‑control verification and incident investigation.
