Warehouse Operations Officer – AUC Press

About the role

The Warehouse Operations Officer will lead the AUC Press warehouse, overseeing a high‑volume inventory of up to 750,000 books and ensuring efficient order fulfillment for local and international customers. Reporting to the Director of Material Management, the role combines team leadership, inventory control, and logistics coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain warehouse layout and stock placement according to ISBN standards for rapid retrieval.
• Manage end‑to‑end order cycle for roughly 2,500 outgoing and 200 incoming shipments annually.
• Prepare and pack local and international orders, meeting strict delivery deadlines and university quality standards.
• Implement safety and security controls to protect staff and a stock portfolio valued at up to LE 40,000,000.
• Act as primary liaison between AUC Press customer services, production directors, and university logistics departments.
• Enter and update real‑time inventory data in the ERP system, ensuring accurate stock levels.
• Supervise and develop warehouse staff, maintaining optimal levels of packing materials and stationery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced logistics certification preferred.
• 5–7 years of supervisory or managerial experience in logistics or warehousing.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Proven ability to manage complex priorities under pressure in a dynamic distribution environment.

Required skills

• High proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems for inventory management.
