Wet Utility Site Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

The Wet Utility Site Engineer will supervise and coordinate the construction, installation, testing and commissioning of wet utility infrastructure, including potable water, sewerage, storm‑water drainage, irrigation and firefighting networks, for projects in Sheikh Zayed, Giza.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities for wet utility works ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and standards.
• Coordinate installation of water, sewerage, storm‑water, irrigation and firefighting networks.
• Monitor contractor performance, productivity and adherence to project schedules.
• Inspect materials and workmanship to meet quality requirements.
• Review shop drawings, method statements and material submittals.
• Oversee testing, flushing, pressure testing, disinfection and commissioning activities.
• Identify and resolve site issues, technical conflicts and construction challenges.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance on site.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports and verify completed work quantities.
• Participate in site meetings and support project close‑out, including as‑built drawings and handover documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in wet utility infrastructure construction.
• Proven experience with potable water, sewerage, storm‑water, irrigation and firefighting networks.
• Experience on EPC, infrastructure or utility projects; coordination with utility authorities and consultants is preferred.

Required skills

• Construction of ductile iron (DI), HDPE, GRP, uPVC and RCC pipelines.
• Installation of valves, fittings, hydrants, chambers, manholes and catch basins.
• Preparation and review of shop drawings, method statements and material submittals.
• Testing, flushing, pressure testing and disinfection of wet utility systems.
