About the role
We are looking for a motivated 2nd Commis to join our kitchen team at a leading hotel brand. The role involves supporting chefs by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix.
- Cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
- Test and monitor food for proper cooking and quality.
- Set‑up and break‑down work stations, serve food in correct portions.
- Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment.
- Check and maintain correct temperature of appliances and food.
- Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.
