Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager will report to the Head of Finance and lead the end‑to‑end management of corporate finance affairs in Egypt. This role ensures the commercial and governance health of the business, drives system efficiencies, and safeguards internal controls and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support effective financial controls and compliance with Egyptian regulations.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to aid commercial decision‑making and long‑term planning.
• Collaborate with local business partners and stakeholders to achieve financial goals.
• Manage payroll and the Remco process in coordination with HR and the central team.
• Oversee monthly, half‑year and full‑year financial reporting, ensuring adherence to corporate timelines.
• Ensure compliance with group policies, local tax laws and governance requirements.
• Monitor cash flow, treasury activities and liquidity management for Egypt.
• Liaise with legal and risk teams on local documents and risk protocols.
• Submit local tax returns and filings to Egyptian tax authorities.
• Support operational teams on direct and indirect tax matters.
• Assist internal and external audit processes and implement improvement actions.
• Contribute to ESG initiatives and manage the local risk & compliance function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 + years of corporate finance experience, preferably in professional services or real estate.
• Fluent Arabic speaker.
• Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and composure under pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Expertise in Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS / Egyptian GAAP).
• High‑level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High‑level proficiency with Google Workspace (G‑Suite).
