Accounting Manager – Trading & Import Business

About the role
The Accounting Manager will lead full‑cycle accounting for a Cairo‑based logistics, supply chain and international trading company. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of trading and import operations, ensuring accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Manage full‑cycle accounting for trading and import activities, including customs duties, freight, insurance and clearing charges.
- Record and reconcile import‑related transactions and monitor inventory accounting, valuation and cost of goods sold.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with local standards.
- Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax laws, VAT, customs regulations and other statutory requirements.
- Handle bank reconciliations, supplier accounts and foreign‑currency transactions.
- Coordinate with customs agents, banks, auditors and tax consultants.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
- Review and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, preferably in trading or import environments.
- Strong understanding of costing and cost of goods sold.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Very good written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
