Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

The Accounts Payable Clerk supports the finance team by ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, maintaining cash handling procedures, and assisting with period‑end closing activities. This full‑time, onsite role is based at Galae Square in Cairo and reports to the finance supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Verify figures, postings, and documents for accuracy, proper coding, and mathematical correctness.
• Organise and maintain files, records, cash, and cash equivalents in line with company policies.
• Record, store, and analyse computerized financial information using journals and ledgers.
• Classify, code, and summarise numerical data to keep financial records up to date.
• Complete period‑end closing procedures and prepare related reports.
• Audit cashier banks periodically and manage petty cash, cashier banks, and contracts.
• Document and act upon cash variances according to SOPs.
• Serve as liaison with armored‑car services or primary banking institutions.
• Participate in internal, external, and regulatory audit processes to ensure compliance.
• Follow all company policies, maintain confidentiality, and support a professional work environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related accounts payable or cash‑handling experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
