About the role
This junior legal counsel position is based in Cairo, Egypt, with the possibility of remote work. It offers a young lawyer the chance to develop professional skills while supporting business operations across African markets and, potentially, the Middle East.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and advise on a variety of contracts and legal documentation.
- Update and maintain contract templates and monitor renewals.
- Conduct legal research, assess risks and perform initial due diligence.
- Support regulatory compliance activities across the region.
- Prepare legal updates, training materials and awareness initiatives for internal stakeholders.
- Provide timely legal advice to business teams under senior guidance.
- Assist in managing claims, disputes and litigation processes, including coordination of documents and witnesses.
- Prepare legal reports, presentations and maintain proper documentation and filing.
- Manage the corporate and contractual repository for Africa and support cross‑functional legal projects.
Required profile
- Law degree (LLB or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in corporate or commercial law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, proactive and detail‑oriented.
- Fluent in English and Arabic; French is a plus.
- Willingness to work on regional topics across Africa and potentially the Middle East.
Required skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
