Android Chapter Lead

About the role

Vodafone Egypt is looking for an Android Chapter Lead to drive the design and delivery of high‑quality mobile applications. The role combines hands‑on development with technical leadership, ensuring the Android portfolio is scalable, performant and aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Android developers, fostering a culture of learning, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Define and implement a modern Android architecture (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture) and guide its adoption across projects.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and performance monitoring to maintain code quality and app stability.
• Collaborate with product, design and backend teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Set the Android technology roadmap, evaluate new tools and ensure the tech stack stays current.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding and career development of team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of Android development experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven ability to lead agile teams and deliver complex mobile products.

Required skills

• Kotlin and Java programming.
• Jetpack Compose, Android SDK and Jetpack components.
• MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture.
• Dagger/Hilt for dependency injection.
• RxJava or Kotlin Coroutines for reactive programming.
• CI/CD, automated testing and performance monitoring tools.
