Assistant Manager, IT

About the role

The Assistant Manager, IT will support the development and execution of the organization’s network and technology strategy, ensuring alignment with both short‑term and long‑term business objectives. This role acts as a second‑level point of contact for user issues and collaborates closely with the Dubai Technology Team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement a network strategy that matches business goals.
• Provide second‑level support for user issues and coordinate escalations.
• Define requirements and priorities in line with business needs.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their business value.
• Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates, and implementation plans.
• Negotiate contracts and identify suitable partnerships.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer from consultants to internal staff.
• Develop and control annual budgets and resource plans.
• Monitor projects through design, testing, and deployment phases.
• Assign, direct, and review work of systems engineers and support staff.
• Provide technical direction to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
• Assess team performance, make compensation decisions, and manage hiring or termination.
• Coordinate technical activities with internal support groups to resolve user problems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IT management or a similar leadership role.
• Strong ability to define and prioritize technology requirements.
• Experience preparing feasibility studies, budgets, and implementation plans.
• Negotiation skills for contracts and partnerships.
• Capability to lead, mentor, and evaluate technical teams.
• Excellent communication and coordination with cross‑functional groups.
