Assistant Softball Coach

About the role

The Louisiana State University of Alexandria is seeking a full‑time Assistant Softball Coach to support the Head Softball Coach in managing a competitive collegiate program. This position involves direct interaction with student‑athletes, coordination of team operations, and contribution to the overall success of the softball program.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the athletic education, training, and performance evaluation of student‑athletes.
• Manage student managers, delegating administrative tasks and overseeing daily operations.
• Participate in recruiting prospective student‑athletes and evaluating talent.
• Collaborate with sports medicine staff and team physicians to ensure athlete health and safety.
• Develop and implement new performance methods and strategic approaches.
• Maintain compliance with LSUA, RRAC, and NAIA rules and regulations.
• Coordinate field maintenance with facilities staff.
• Support travel logistics, including booking hotels, charter buses, and handling receipt reconciliation.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by the Head Coach.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• 1–2 years of softball coaching experience (3–4 years preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and ethical standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
