Associate Programme Advisor – Fibres, Textiles & Clothing

About the role

The International Trade Centre is seeking an Associate Programme Advisor to support the Global Textile and Clothing (GTEX) Egypt project. The role will focus on strengthening the competitiveness of fibres, textiles and clothing sectors in developing countries through capacity building, market linkage, and sustainable value‑chain development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide reliable support and coordination for the GTEX Egypt project and related initiatives.
• Assist micro‑small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in adopting sustainable production practices and meeting EU, Swiss and US market requirements.
• Facilitate capacity‑building activities across the value chain, from production to post‑production stages.
• Support the institutional ecosystem by improving service provision for the textile and clothing sector.
• Promote south‑south cooperation and link stakeholders to new market opportunities.
• Monitor emerging regulations on sustainable and circular textiles and advise on compliance.
• Contribute to gender‑inclusive and youth‑employment strategies within the sector.

Required profile

• Experience in international trade, SME development or textile sector programmes.
• Understanding of sustainable and circular textile regulations, especially EU standards.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi‑stakeholder projects and deliver results within a one‑year timeframe.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a focus on gender and youth empowerment.
