Backend Engineer (SDE2) – Egypt Financial Services

About the role

The Egypt Financial Services team owns and scales financial‑services initiatives for the Egypt market. This backend position focuses on building reliable systems across provider integrations, checkout, cart, promotions, order flows, risk controls and other core commerce areas where financial‑services products operate.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services for BNPL/payment‑provider integrations, checkout flows, refund/capture/reversal lifecycles and webhook processing.
• Own robust API integrations with external financial providers, handling authentication, token management, idempotency, retries, error handling and observability.
• Develop event‑driven workflows using Pub/Sub, workers and async processing to keep orders, payments and refunds consistent.
• Collaborate with product, QA, front‑end, sales and Egypt stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end features with minimal external dependencies.
