Body and Paint Workshop Engineer

About the role

The Body and Paint Workshop Engineer leads a team of technicians responsible for vehicle body repairs and paint work. The role ensures the workshop operates according to standard operating procedures, delivering high productivity, quality, and profitability while providing a positive customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise body shop technicians and ensure proper repair order flow.
• Maintain workshop equipment in safe, working condition and schedule preventive maintenance.
• Obtain and manage special tools and equipment required by manufacturer guidelines.
• Enforce dealership warranty policies and procedures.
• Cross‑train staff to cover multiple roles and address manpower shortages.
• Report any issues that could affect the dealership’s integrity, security, or finances.
• Maintain high standards of shop cleanliness, equipment repair, and overall appearance.
• Organise and manage designated parking areas for the department.
• Identify and eliminate wasteful practices related to supplies, utilities, space, and time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in Body & Paint operations within a reputable dealership.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of dealership warranty policies, parts ordering, logistics, and inventory control.
• Experience with Mercedes‑Benz brand operations is a plus.
