Business Development Team Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Team Lead to drive profitable growth of Elsewedy Electric’s IPP and renewable‑energy portfolio across the Balkans and Southern Europe. The role will build strong relationships with developers, regulators and local partners to expand our project footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Explore new IPP and EPC opportunities in target markets (Francophone Africa, South Europe, Balkans).
• Review IPP project documents (PPA, Implementation Agreement, Usufruct Agreement) to identify commercial risks.
• Conduct market research, prepare project teasers and identify potential partners, contractors, technical advisors and auditors.
• Manage tender documentation and collaborate with technical, treasury, tax and legal departments.
• Present project updates to the Business Development Director and Senior Vice‑President.
• Approach lenders, create or review financial models and negotiate financing terms.
• Prepare action plans, allocate budgets, set milestones and timelines for project development.
• Hire legal, tax and financial advisors and support contract negotiations from a commercial perspective.
• Conduct comprehensive financial feasibility and risk analyses while ensuring HSE compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• 4‑5 years of experience in renewable‑energy business development.
• Fluent in French and English (French is mandatory).
• Proven ability to analyse IPP contracts and conduct financial modelling.
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
