Cards Product Development Senior Manager

About the role

The Cards Product Development Senior Manager will lead the design, launch and optimisation of new card products and services for a retail banking portfolio. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines strategic research, cross‑functional collaboration and performance monitoring to drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Research emerging card technologies and services, align them with the bank’s retail strategy and oversee end‑to‑end product delivery.
• Lead vendor selection, conduct financial and technical assessments, and negotiate agreements with payment schemes and service providers.
• Define project scope, budgets and deliverables; prepare budget approvals and ensure execution within approved limits.
• Monitor post‑launch performance, analyse transaction volume, customer engagement and revenue to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and execute marketing and communication plans, create internal and external positioning materials.
• Conduct market scans and competitive analyses to uncover differentiation opportunities.
• Design training programmes and communication material for front‑line staff.
• Identify process gaps, draft SLAs and SOPs, and drive procedural enhancements.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Compliance, Shari’a, IT and external partners to ensure seamless product launches.
• Drive innovation by exploring contactless, tokenisation and other emerging payment solutions.
• Formulate pricing strategies, perform pricing analysis and manage profitability forecasts.
• Ensure all card products comply with regulatory requirements and stay updated on legislative changes.
• Manage scheme relationships, track performance against agreements and handle incentive claims.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with proven experience in card product development or similar financial services roles.
• Strong analytical, project‑management and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Deep understanding of banking regulations, payment‑scheme requirements and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and external audiences.
