Case Worker – Refugees and Migrants

About the role

The Case Worker will deliver protection and case‑management services for African and Syrian children in Alexandria, Egypt. Working under the Child Protection Officer, the role involves conducting Best Interest Assessments, coordinating referrals, and providing psychosocial support to unaccompanied minors and children at risk.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Best Interest Assessment (BIA) interviews, draft reports and, when required, Best Interest Determination (BID) documents.
• Make referrals and coordinate with partner organisations to ensure timely assistance.
• Monitor and follow‑up individual cases of unaccompanied minors and children at risk, ensuring compliance with Save the Children policies and donor guidelines.
• Develop monthly case‑load reports and contribute to project planning for child‑focused activities.
• Co‑facilitate psychosocial support sessions and awareness workshops together with the Psychosocial Activities team.
• Support emergency response efforts, prioritising children’s rights and protection in crisis situations.

Required profile

• Experience in child protection, case management or humanitarian assistance, preferably with refugee or migrant populations.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding standards and ability to work with vulnerable children.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to travel between Alexandria and Damietta and adapt to emergency contexts.
