Channel Business Development Manager

About the role

The Channel Business Development Manager will lead the expansion of sales channels for aquatic products, meat, fruits, vegetables and other agricultural goods across Africa. You will create localized sales strategies, build strategic partnerships and ensure seamless supply‑chain integration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain sales channels in wholesale markets, retail chains, and HoReCa buyers throughout Africa.
• Design localized import/export strategies for key product categories and achieve channel deployment and sales targets.
• Identify, acquire and manage B2B clients (wholesalers, retailers, catering groups, corporate cafeterias) from prospecting through contract signing.
• Track order fulfillment, coordinate payment collection and gather client feedback on quality, packaging and pricing.
• Monitor African import policies, quarantine standards, currency changes and competitor activity; produce regular market analysis reports.
• Collaborate with the domestic supply‑chain team to align sourcing, cold‑chain logistics and customs clearance.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher in Marketing, International Trade, Agricultural Economics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of channel sales or client development experience in Africa.
• Established network of local distributors, wholesale markets, supermarket chains or food‑service procurement.
• Fluent English with strong cross‑cultural communication and negotiation skills.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and able to travel frequently across Africa.

Required skills

• Understanding of international trade processes (inquiry, order fulfillment, payment collection).
• Knowledge of imported fruit customs clearance and inspection/quarantine procedures.
• Data analysis capability to identify market opportunities from sales metrics.
