Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Logistics & Freight Forwarding

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides strategic leadership for a logistics and freight forwarding organization, driving sustainable growth and operational excellence. Reporting to the Board, the CEO shapes the company’s vision, mission, and long‑term objectives while overseeing all functional areas.

Key responsibilities

• Define, communicate, and execute the company’s strategic goals and vision.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives.
• Lead business development across logistics, freight forwarding, and trading services.
• Oversee daily operations of all departments to ensure efficiency and service excellence.
• Manage financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation.
• Monitor KPIs, ensure profitability targets are met, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial requirements.
• Mentor and inspire department heads and cross‑functional teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and government authorities.
• Report performance to the Board and represent the company at industry events and global trade networks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in logistics, shipping, or trading.
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding, customs regulations, and international trade laws.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, business growth, and financial management.
• Exceptional leadership, decision‑making, and communication abilities.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and work under pressure.
