Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Construction

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer will lead day‑to‑day operations across all business units of a construction company in Cairo. This senior executive role focuses on delivering major projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage overall operations, developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Direct execution and delivery of major construction projects, ensuring compliance with budgets, timelines, quality, and safety standards.
• Monitor operational performance, resource utilization, and establish KPIs to improve efficiency.
• Lead and coordinate operational, project management, and departmental teams, ensuring effective cross‑department collaboration.
• Identify risks and inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report project progress and operational performance to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering from a Government/Public University.
• 20+ years of experience in the construction and contracting industry.
• Proven senior operational leadership experience (COO, Operations Director, Projects Director, or equivalent).
• Strong track record managing large‑scale construction operations and major projects.
• Extensive experience in Operations Management, Project Management, Strategic Planning, Business Development, and Cost Management.
• Excellent command of English and strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
