Cloud Architect - IoT, AWS & Azure (Senior Manager)

About the role

PwC is hiring a Senior Manager Cloud Architect for its advisory practice in Cairo. As Cloud Architect, you will define and govern the cloud architecture for a digital banking platform, delivering secure, scalable and resilient solutions across AWS and Azure. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, security and data teams to support rapid delivery, operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical liaison, running regular steering calls between client stakeholders and service providers, translating technical proposals into actionable items for management review, and guiding service providers on approved decisions.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the production IoT infrastructure on AWS, including incident management, proactive monitoring of health and performance metrics, and prevention of service disruptions.
• Enforce cloud governance policies such as resource tagging and decommissioning of unused services, and lead FinOps discussions to optimise cloud costs.
• Oversee cloud security, ensure compliance with security controls, and report regularly on costs, security status and performance.

Required profile

• 12+ years in cloud architecture or engineering, with significant experience in regulated environments.
• Proven ability to design for scalability, resilience and operational efficiency.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in AWS and Azure, including compute, storage, networking, IAM and security.
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS), automation (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation) and CI/CD.
• Cloud security, monitoring and compliance frameworks.
• Preferred: AWS/Azure Architect or Security certification, hybrid/multi-cloud and migration experience, event-driven architectures, API management and observability tooling.
