Cloud Data Engineer

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing B2B agency, is looking for a Cloud Data Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines on Microsoft Azure. You will create reliable data infrastructure that powers reporting and business decision‑making across the organisation, working remotely with flexible hours.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Azure Functions.
• Manage cloud storage solutions such as Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database and Cosmos DB.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes for accurate data movement.
• Write, optimise and maintain complex T‑SQL queries for extraction, transformation and reporting.
• Automate repetitive data tasks and build Power BI reports for stakeholders.
• Integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring security and scalability.
• Implement data‑governance and security best practices in collaboration with analysts and data scientists.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of data‑engineering experience with a strong cloud focus.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Azure SQL Database.
• Solid understanding of ETL processes and data‑warehouse design.
• Proficiency in writing and optimising complex T‑SQL queries.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, Scala and Power BI (Power Query, DAX).
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
