Cloud Infrastructure Architect – Data & Analytics Platforms

About the role

PwC's ETIC advisory practice in Cairo is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to support the delivery of data and analytics platforms. The role is hands-on and delivery-focused, combining strong technical capability across Linux, container platforms and cloud data services with effective collaboration with client and internal delivery teams. You will help design, build, deploy and prepare environments for operation across Azure and AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of infrastructure deployments, including compute, storage, networking and data services
• Build, configure and operate Kubernetes-based platforms
• Support data processing and analytics workloads, mainly with Azure Databricks and AWS EMR
• Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure Pipelines
• Perform Linux administration and troubleshooting, including scripting and automation with Bash
• Support PostgreSQL deployments, including setup, configuration, operational support and basic performance tuning
• Help with incident resolution, recovery and root-cause analysis
• Review technical designs and deployment approaches for scalability, security and resilience
• Work with data engineers and application teams, and support knowledge transfer and capability development

Required profile

• Hands-on experience with Linux-based platforms and distributed systems
• Prior experience supporting large-scale analytics platforms
• Experience in a consulting or client-facing delivery environment
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to own workstreams, identify risks and dependencies proactively, and adapt quickly to new technologies

Required skills

• Kubernetes, with deployment and operational support experience
• Azure Databricks and/or AWS EMR
• CI/CD tooling, ideally Azure Pipelines
• PostgreSQL in a delivery or operations context
• Exposure to Azure and/or AWS for data-intensive workloads
• Understanding of availability, recovery and operational resilience concepts
