Cloud Security Associate

About the role

PwC is opening a new Technology and Innovation Centre in Cairo, offering services from packaged applications (SAP and Oracle) to cybersecurity, data analytics, custom development and cloud services on AWS, Azure and Google. The Cyber Security practice advises clients on strategy, risk and governance, with deep technical implementation and assurance expertise. This Cloud Security Associate role supports the leadership and delivery of the new practice, working with teams in the UK, Germany and other Middle Eastern countries.

Key responsibilities

• Implement cloud security controls through Microsoft-native cybersecurity technology
• Advise on configuring client security tools such as Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud and others
• Reduce security vulnerabilities and configuration weaknesses
• Lead DevSecOps initiatives with development teams and provide technical support throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Monitor operational security of environments and respond to threats
• Build documentation and automation scripts for the security operations team
• Work with Cloud Operations teams on security standards and best practices

Required profile

• University degree, ideally in computer science, information systems, cyber security or related fields
• At least 1 year of relevant experience for Associate, 3 years for Senior Associate
• Experience in consulting or in multinational environments
• Excellent oral and written English; German is a plus
• Open-minded, adaptable, able to work in a fast-paced, unstructured environment and communicate across multiple time zones

Required skills

• Practical experience in infrastructure and cloud platform security
• Microsoft Sentinel and KQL; experience integrating custom connectors via APIs (developers considered if no direct experience)
• Microsoft 365 threat protection (Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps) and Azure security (Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, DDoS Protection)
• Azure components (Firewall, Bastion, RBAC, Active Directory) and Microsoft 365 components (Purview, Defender, Identity, Vulnerability Management)
• Compliance (eDiscovery, data retention, insider risk) and identity technologies (Azure AD P1/P2)
• Knowledge of SaaS platforms such as SAP and Oracle is a plus
