Commis – Kitchen Assistant in Food & Beverages

About the role

The Commis supports the kitchen team in daily food production within IKEA’s Food & Beverages division at Cairo Festival City. Working closely with the Chef, the role ensures meals are prepared safely, efficiently and to IKEA’s quality standards, contributing to a pleasant dining experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist cooks in preparing and cooking menu items according to standard recipes.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and IKEA Food Safety programmes.
• Monitor ingredient availability, quality and proper storage.
• Report equipment breakdowns and ensure correct use of kitchen tools.
• Participate in incident reporting (CASY) and follow emergency procedures.
• Keep work stations clean and organized throughout the shift.
• Support guest interactions by delivering service with empathy and IKEA values.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of operational performance and SOP compliance.
