Commis (Kitchen Assistant)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Commis to join the kitchen team at our new Morgans Originals hotel in Egypt. The role supports senior chefs in preparing high‑quality dishes and maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs with ingredient preparation, cooking, and plating according to recipes.
• Perform mise en place, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces.
• Monitor freshness and proper storage of all food items, rotating stock as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas, following all safety regulations.
• Support multiple kitchen stations (starters, mains, pastry) as required.
• Help with inventory checks, report low stock, and assist in stock rotation.
• Ensure food is cooked to specification and delivered on time.
• Carry out additional tasks such as dishwashing, utensil cleaning, and general kitchen upkeep.
