Consortium EHS Manager – High Speed Rail Project

About the role

Join the team delivering Egypt’s first high‑speed rail system as a Consortium EHS Manager. You will lead environment, health and safety compliance across a 2,000‑km rail project, working with Siemens Mobility, consortium partners and multiple contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor EHS requirements, ensuring compliance with consortium procedures, legal, lender and international standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IFC).
• Support partners, contractors and subcontractors in applying EHS strategies, safe systems of work and Permit‑to‑Work processes.
• Drive hazard identification, risk assessments and control of high‑risk construction activities.
• Monitor contractor EHS performance, including method statements, competency, inspections and training compliance.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Plan and conduct site inspections, internal and contractor audits, and ensure timely closure of non‑conformities.
• Promote safety culture through inductions, toolbox talks and STARRT briefings.
• Support emergency preparedness and environmental reporting (waste, dust, noise).
• Prepare EHS performance reports and dashboards for project and consortium management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience managing EHS on large‑scale construction, infrastructure or railway projects.
• Strong knowledge of international EHS standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IFC Performance Standards, OSHA).
• Proven ability to manage EHS activities across multiple contractors.
