Contracts Engineer

About the role

The Contracts Engineer is a specialist in engineering who ensures that all contractual terms between clients, subcontractors and partners are managed fairly and efficiently. Working under the supervision of a Senior Contracts Engineer, the role involves overseeing project contracts, reviewing legal aspects, and drafting commercial tenders.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyse, coordinate and respond to contractual correspondence with subcontractors, clients and partners.
• Collect and organise data for contractual claims, prepare findings and maintain claims logs.
• Gather data for variations, prepare and update variation logs.
• Verify subcontractor obligations such as bank guarantees and insurance certificates.
• Participate in weekly progress, pre‑construction, variation and other project meetings.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with contract provisions and recommend adjustments.
• Create, update and maintain all contract administration logs and generate contract reports.
• Provide recommendations and lessons learned to improve contract administration processes.
• Report monthly on the progress of main activities.

Required profile

• Engineering specialist with experience in contract review and administration.
• Ability to analyse legal aspects of contracts and ensure fair treatment of all parties.
• Experience drafting commercial tenders under senior supervision.
• Strong organisational skills for managing claims, variations and contract logs.
