Contracts Engineer

About the role

The Contracts Engineer will support the construction team on‑site, ensuring that all contract clauses, payments and change processes are correctly applied and documented. You will act as the liaison between project personnel and the client on contractual matters, safeguarding the company’s interests throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Explain contract clauses, payment terms and change processes to key project personnel.
• Review contract conditions thoroughly and issue client notices within contractual time frames.
• Draft and manage correspondence on claims, disputes, back charges, completion certificates, insurance, and contract amendments after Project Manager approval.
• Maintain site document control, ensuring proper filing and logging of all issued and received letters.
• Prepare and submit project records and reports to protect company interests and support future claims.
• Document verbal instructions, monitor variations, and ensure they are authorized and recorded.
• Maintain logs for claim notices, back charges, and insurance as required by the Contracts Manager.
• Attend progress meetings, verify minutes, and ensure no contractual contradictions are imposed.
• Support headquarters Contracts Department in claim preparation and participate in settlement negotiations.
• Prepare periodic reports and contribute to pre‑award contract reviews.

Required profile

• BSc in Construction Management or Engineering.
• Previous experience in contracts and claims management.
• CLAC and PMP certifications are preferred.
• Strong command of the English language.
