About the role
We are seeking a motivated Cook II to join our Food & Beverage team at Sheraton Soma Bay Resort. You will work in a dynamic kitchen environment, preparing a variety of dishes while maintaining our high standards of quality and presentation.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
- Cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and complete food preparation checklists.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
- Monitor food quality, test doneness, and ensure correct temperature of appliances and food.
- Prepare cold foods, set‑up and break‑down work stations, and serve food in proper portions.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen, including tools, knives, equipment and work surfaces.
- Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any issues to management.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related culinary experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry objects up to 25 lb.
Required skills
- Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Food preparation techniques (portioning, chopping, measuring).
- Food safety and temperature monitoring.
