Core Network Team Leader

About the role

The Core Network Team Leader is responsible for managing and optimizing the datacenter network infrastructure to ensure high stability, availability, and performance of core network components. This senior position oversees implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of LAN/WAN and virtualization technologies across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation, execution, and engineering support for datacenter systems.
• Ensure business continuity for both software and hardware implementations.
• Develop and improve datacenter implementations following the latest ICT policies and standards.
• Verify and enhance core network systems, including LAN and WAN.
• Maintain quality standards for service delivery and sustainability.
• Identify and report network risks within the datacenter.
• Manage change requests and approvals.
• Support ICT operations and help‑desk teams according to agreed service criteria.
• Provide first‑line and second‑line ICT support nationwide.
• Coordinate relationships with providers and external partners.
• Plan and execute network maintenance, upgrades, patches, hot‑fixes, and security configurations while minimizing service impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communication engineering, computer science or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in network and IT environments.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to manage third‑party relationships.
• Fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP.
• Routing protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF.
• Switching techniques.
• Hardware experience with Huawei, Juniper (and Cisco).
• Network virtualization with Cisco ACI (preferred).
• Virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper‑V.
• ITIL framework.
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP Data Centre (preferred), CCIE (highly preferred).
