Cybersecurity Ethical Hacking Associate

About the role

PwC's cybersecurity advisory team protects organisations from cyber threats by identifying vulnerabilities, developing secure systems and providing proactive solutions. This associate-level position in Cairo involves designing, implementing and maintaining security systems, analysing vulnerabilities, mitigating risks and confirming compliance with industry standards. The role also includes conducting security audits and recommending improvements to the security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Perform penetration testing on networks, applications and systems to discover vulnerabilities.
• Use tools such as Kali Linux, Burp Suite, Metasploit and Nmap to simulate real-world attacks.
• Analyse security systems and architecture and recommend improvements.
• Report and document security issues, including steps to reproduce and mitigate them.
• Conduct social engineering tests such as phishing simulations when applicable.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities and best practices.
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps and compliance teams to ensure secure configurations and deployments.
• Provide technical advice and training to stakeholders on security practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as an Ethical Hacker, Penetration Tester or Security Analyst.
• Preferred certifications: CEH, OSCP, CISSP, GPEN or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and documentation abilities, ethical mindset and confidentiality, and ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• In-depth understanding of network protocols, operating systems and software security.
• Strong scripting and programming knowledge (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR and PCI-DSS.
