Data Solution Architect - Senior Manager

About the role

PwC ETIC is looking for a seasoned Data Architect (Senior Manager) to define, create and oversee scalable data architectures that let organisations use data for strategic business initiatives. The role suits someone with over 10 years of data architecture experience, with a focus on hyperscale platforms and a preference for cloud hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of scalable, flexible data architectures and create data models, data flow diagrams and integration architectures for transactional and analytical systems.
• Design and implement data platforms that integrate with on-premise or cloud environments, and architect end-to-end data pipelines (ingestion, storage, processing, analytics).
• Work with cloud engineering and DevOps teams to deploy, monitor and optimise cloud data solutions.
• Integrate data governance (quality, metadata, lineage, compliance) and data security (encryption, access control, GDPR, CCPA) into the architecture.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and work with business stakeholders, data scientists and analysts to deliver tailored solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, mentor junior architects and data engineers, and stay current on industry trends.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture and enterprise data platforms.
• Good experience with hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a proven track record of cloud-native data platforms, data lakes, warehouses and pipelines.
• Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate, Google Professional Data Engineer, CDMP.

Required skills

• Cloud data technologies such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, Databricks.
• Data modelling, data warehousing and ETL/ELT.
• Big data tools and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and leadership skills.
