Deputy Finance Manager

About the role

The Deputy Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective treasury and budgeting activities. This role acts as the Finance Manager’s right‑hand, stepping in for meetings and approvals when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end / year‑end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax regulations (VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax) and coordinate with auditors and tax authorities.
• Support implementation of internal controls and identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Prepare management reports, financial models, and investment analyses for decision‑making.
• Supervise and mentor junior finance and accounting staff.
• Liaise with banks, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Deputize for the Finance Manager in meetings, reviews, and approvals.
• Assist with ERP/financial system implementation and enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (Master’s/MBA a plus).
• Professional certification such as CMA, CFA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in the ICT industry.

Required skills

• Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Egyptian tax law knowledge (VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax, e‑invoicing).
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Cash‑flow and working‑capital management.
• Internal control frameworks and audit processes.
• Banking procedures and treasury operations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas).
• Financial statement preparation, consolidation and variance analysis.
• ERP/financial system implementation experience.
