Deputy Quality Manager

About the role

Al Shaheen Trading & Industry is looking for a Deputy Quality Manager to support the Quality department in ensuring product safety and compliance across its food, packaging and plastic manufacturing operations. The role will work closely with production, purchasing and laboratory teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise inspection and testing of raw materials, in‑process and finished products.
• Prepare and approve testing schedules, analyse results and trigger corrective actions.
• Monitor laboratory conditions, calibration and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain documentation of inspection results, non‑conformities and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Production and Purchasing to resolve quality deviations promptly.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety and quality procedures across all areas.
• Participate in internal and external audits and support certification activities.
• Develop and maintain the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and BRC standards.
• Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 4–5 years of proven QA/QC experience in food, packaging or plastic manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and BRC certification knowledge.
• CAPA, internal audit and regulatory compliance expertise.
• Food safety standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Calibration, preventive maintenance and laboratory equipment handling.
