Design Engineer – Fire Protection

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer specialized in fire protection to lead the design and cost estimation of fire sprinkler, detection, alarm, and suppression systems. You will ensure all solutions meet NFPA codes, local regulations and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed fire protection system designs using AutoCAD and hydraulic calculation tools.
• Prepare accurate, itemised cost estimates for new installations, upgrades and retrofits.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate fire protection solutions into overall project schedules.
• Produce technical reports, proposals and documentation that demonstrate compliance with NFPA, SEC, HCIS SAF and SWCC standards.
• Conduct site surveys to gather data for estimation and design validation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date design calculations, specifications and cost breakdowns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in fire detection/protection system design and estimation, or 5 years in MEP engineering and estimation.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection codes and local regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD for fire protection layout.
• Experience performing hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems.
