Design Engineer

About the role

Schindler is seeking a Design Engineer to develop and oversee circuit layouts and production for elevator and escalator systems. The role combines mechanical and electronic engineering expertise to translate schematics into high‑quality analog, digital and mixed‑signal designs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver layout drawings that meet customer specifications, contractual deadlines and quality standards.
• Create layout and builder’s work plans based on architectural drawings and elevator specifications.
• Review system calculations and support sales engineering on layout feasibility.
• Collaborate with project managers, application engineers and sales teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with internal regulations, applicable codes and occupational health and safety policies.
• Participate in continuous process improvement and technical customer meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in elevator and escalator design.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with circuit layout and production.
• Ability to develop analog, digital and mixed‑signal designs.
