Design Team Leader – Data Center

About the role

Ecotel Communication is seeking an experienced Design Team Leader to head the pre‑award design team for Data Center and Mission‑Critical Infrastructure projects. You will drive integrated engineering solutions from RFP interpretation through bid submission, ensuring compliance with Uptime Institute Tier standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the design team throughout the pre‑award/bidding process.
• Interpret RFPs, RFQs, RFIs and translate technical specifications into complete engineering solutions.
• Define target Uptime Institute Tier (I–IV) and overall system architecture.
• Synchronise Electrical, Mechanical and ELV disciplines to deliver a consistent design.
• Review and approve engineering concepts, calculations, BOQs/MTOs, compliance matrices and technical proposals.
• Drive value engineering, identify optimisation opportunities and manage technical risks.
• Collaborate with presales, commercial, procurement and vendors during the bidding phase.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in MEP or mission‑critical infrastructure design.
• Minimum 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of data‑center infrastructure and Uptime Institute Tier requirements.
• Ability to interpret RFP/RFQ/RFI documents and produce complete engineering solutions.

Required skills

• Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) – strongly preferred.
• CDCP/CDCS, ASHRAE Data Center training, ISO‑related certifications – advantageous.
• Proficiency with Revit MEP, ETAP, EcoDial, HAP and Elite Software.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
