DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join Siemens Digital Industries Software in Cairo, Egypt. The role focuses on maintaining high‑availability production systems, automating development and release processes, and leading large‑scale projects that support our global PLM solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high‑availability production systems and large integrated environments.
• Develop and maintain in‑house utilities to automate development and release activities.
• Lead and coach teams on large‑scale projects impacting global operations.
• Manage continuous integration frameworks, enterprise monitoring, and alert notifications.
• Evaluate, integrate, and deploy third‑party tools for development, testing, and release teams.
• Investigate, isolate, and resolve hardware and software defects with strong debugging skills.
• Design innovative solutions by applying analytical expertise to complex problems.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field (minimum grade: Very Good).
• At least 3 years of experience in DevOps or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of DevOps concepts such as CI, CD, configuration and source code management.
• Service‑oriented attitude with the ability to multitask and handle interruptions effectively.

Required skills

• GitLab administration (preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Automation tools: Ansible, Puppet.
• Containerisation with Docker.
• Linux system administration and debugging.
• Familiarity with grid management software (e.g., AGE, LSF, Slurm) – a plus.
• Knowledge of high‑availability architectures – a plus.
