DevOps Engineer

About the role

The DevOps Engineer at CEQUENS bridges development, operations and IT through continuous development, integration and deployment practices. The role covers implementing automation tools, managing CI/CD pipelines and keeping applications highly available and performant. It works closely with software developers, system operators and other IT staff on code releases and deployments. The position is based in Egypt and can be worked remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve the CI/CD pipeline to automate build, test and deployment, and manage tools that integrate and enhance development and deployment.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise IT infrastructure performance, and ensure reliability and availability through proactive management and scaling.
• Automate repetitive tasks and write scripts for configuration, backups and system monitoring.
• Work with development teams on deployment processes and server and application performance, and give technical guidance to colleagues.
• Implement security measures across the infrastructure and development lifecycle and ensure compliance with security regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in software engineering or IT operations.
• Experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform and other cloud-native technologies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, effective communication and teamwork with multi-disciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Scripting in Python and Bash.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration.
• AWS cloud services and serverless architecture.
