Director of Academic Excellence (Remote) – $400k/year

About the role

We are seeking a visionary leader to head the academic function of 2 Hour Learning, a remote‑first organization that enables students to master content in just two hours per day through AI‑driven tutoring and mastery‑based progression. The Director of Academic Excellence will translate rigorous learning‑science research into scalable operational models and act as the public face of the movement worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and codify academic frameworks that turn learning‑science principles into concrete curriculum, motivation, and application guidelines.
• Conduct regular execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure alignment, accountability, and results across multiple school sites.
• Integrate data analytics, stakeholder interviews, and classroom observations to diagnose barriers to accelerated learning and recommend targeted interventions.
• Maintain strategic coherence through structured planning, continuous feedback loops, and milestone tracking.
• Represent 2 Hour Learning at high‑profile forums, including keynote speeches and meetings with ministries of education, to champion systemic educational transformation.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Proven track record of leading academic teams and delivering measurable learning outcomes at scale.
• Experience presenting research‑based solutions to senior policymakers, educators, and media audiences.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable improvement plans.
