Domestic Assistant

About the role

The Domestic Assistant provides a high‑quality cleaning service within the Vale Centre for Health & Care, ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors. This part‑time permanent position works evenings from Monday to Friday and follows NHS Scotland cleaning standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out domestic cleaning tasks according to agreed schedules and frequencies.
• Use cleaning agents safely and economically, following manufacturer instructions.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment correctly and report any faults.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and uphold personal hygiene standards.
• Dispose of waste in line with NHS policies and respond to audit‑identified rectifications.
• Follow Infection Prevention and Control colour‑coding, including bed screen or curtain changes when required.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, manual‑handling training and fire safety procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to work flexibly within the specified evening hours.
• Good communication and customer‑care skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
