Duty Manager

About the role

The Duty Manager ensures smooth operation of the hotel’s public areas and front‑office services, with a special focus on VIP guest experiences. Working closely with the Front Office Manager, the role combines operational oversight, guest relations, and coordination across all hotel departments.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect lobby, public areas and lighting for cleanliness and proper appearance.
• Welcome and attend to VIP guests, providing personalized services as directed by the Front Office Manager.
• Verify registration cards for arriving guests and ensure all required information is completed.
• Assist VIP arrivals and departures in the absence of Guest Relation Officers.
• Handle guest messages, faxes, and coordinate night‑reception instructions during high‑occupancy periods.
• Resolve room‑lock issues and manage walk‑in guests and no‑show room releases.
• Prepare VIP arrivals, escort guests to rooms, and coordinate with all relevant departments.
• Operate the front‑office computer system to support attendants.
• Ensure wake‑up calls are scheduled and manage group department fit.
• Address guest complaints, log incidents, and support reception, business centre, cashier, concierge and bell captain as needed.
• Promote energy‑saving practices, waste reduction and environmental awareness within the department.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a tidy, orderly environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for greeting and assisting VIP guests.
• Capability to coordinate with multiple hotel departments and handle high‑pressure situations.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude for room‑lock and guest‑complaint issues.
• Commitment to environmental sustainability initiatives.
