Electrical Engineer – Tobacco Manufacturing

About the role
The Electrical Engineer will ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all electrical systems and equipment within a tobacco manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment uptime.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Maintain and repair motors, drives, control panels, transformers, switchgear and power distribution networks.
- Monitor and maintain PLC, HMI and SCADA automation systems.
- Support production teams by ensuring equipment availability and reliability.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis for recurring failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and company HSE standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers during maintenance and project activities.
- Participate in installation, commissioning and start‑up of new equipment and production lines.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and technical documentation.
- Identify opportunities for energy saving, process improvement and spare‑parts optimisation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–7 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience in highly automated sectors such as tobacco, FMCG, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, packaging or paper is preferred.
