Field Engineer – Logging While Drilling (LWD)

About the role

Halliburton is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to lead Logging While Drilling (LWD) operations on‑site. You will supervise tool preparation, data acquisition, log generation and quality control, ensuring customers receive accurate and timely information.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise LWD processes, including tool set‑up, data capture, log creation and QC.
• Act as lead engineer on most jobs, delivering high‑quality data to customers.
• Provide technical consultation on mud hydraulics, Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) planning, formation evaluation and drilling dynamics.
• Test all tools and equipment before, during and after each job and resolve operational issues.
• Complete required forms, databases and reports such as service vouchers and end‑of‑job surveys.
• Coordinate with directional driller to ensure BHA compatibility and correct tool‑face references.
• Participate in performance‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field preferred.
• Minimum one year of field experience in M/LWD.
• Successful completion of Halliburton’s basic M/LWD training program.
• Ability to read and interpret formation logs, directional surveys and other well‑site data.
• Relevant on‑shore and offshore safety certificates.
