Finance Associate – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Finance Associate supports the World Bank's Budget and Procurement Solutions Vice Presidency by delivering expert accounting, payment processing, cash management and financial administration across several country offices. The role ensures cost‑efficient operations, strong internal controls, and timely financial reporting for the institution’s global initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Process payments, manage cash flows, and oversee related administrative functions.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, policies, and procedures in line with World Bank standards.
• Provide analytical support and data for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with regional and corporate finance teams to ensure consistency and compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in public‑sector or international development accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting processes, and reporting standards.
• Ability to work across multiple geographic locations and adapt to diverse stakeholder needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard accounting software and financial management tools.
• Advanced Excel or spreadsheet analytical capabilities.
• Knowledge of cash management and payment processing procedures.
