Finance Manager – Cairo, Egypt

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead the financial operations of Amideast’s Egypt field office, ensuring accurate accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Reporting directly to the Country Director, the role serves as the key liaison with Amideast headquarters and external donors.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the Egypt office’s financial systems, ensuring design, implementation and compliance.
• Prepare, negotiate and modify project, grant and service budgets in coordination with partners and donors.
• Maintain and update project budgets, track obligated funds and analyse variances for donor reporting.
• Supervise all financial transactions, purchase orders, contracts and petty cash.
• Design and regularly update the Egypt finance manual in partnership with HQ finance leadership.
• Assist project managers with financial and labor reporting and provide budgeting training.
• Develop the annual operating budget, rolling forecasts and internal management reports.
• Support the Country Director in monitoring financial performance and trends.
• Coordinate with HQ Controller, Regional Finance Director and Internal Auditor for external and internal audit processes.
• Work with HQ Treasury to prepare accurate cash forecasts and weekly cash positions.
• Prepare required financial reports for program sponsors in collaboration with HQ accounting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance management, budgeting and forecasting.
• Familiarity with donor compliance and international grant regulations.
• Ability to supervise finance staff and coordinate with senior leadership.
• Strong analytical skills for financial performance monitoring.
• Experience working with auditors and preparing audit documentation.
