Finished Goods Production Planner

About the role

Yazaki is seeking a Finished Goods Production Planner to develop and maintain production plans that align with customer demand, forecasts, and available capacity. You will work cross‑functionally to ensure on‑time order completion while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing excess stock.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Finished Goods Production Plan based on demand, forecasts, inventory targets, and capacity.
• Convert customer requirements into daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Monitor demand fluctuations and adjust plans to minimize operational impact.
• Ensure on‑time completion of production orders and manage End‑of‑Production parts to avoid shortages.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels while balancing service, carrying cost, and warehouse capacity.
• Coordinate with Production, Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, and Customer Service for smooth execution.
• Revise schedules in response to material shortages, machine downtime, engineering changes, or capacity constraints.
• Plan shipments to maximize container utilization, meet delivery windows, and control transportation costs.
• Analyze inventory status, Days of Stock, slow‑moving and obsolete stock, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support New Product Introduction, phase‑in/phase‑out, and End‑of‑Production planning.
• Track planning KPIs such as OTD, schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, DOS, premium freight, and plan attainment.
• Participate in S&OP and MPS meetings, providing demand‑capacity‑inventory scenarios.
• Maintain accurate master data and ERP/MRP system information.
• Identify supply‑chain risks and develop recovery plans.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in production planning, demand planning, or supply planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP.
